While attending college at the age of 19, Alvaro L. Adrian started his career as a real estate developer working under the guidance of his father Pedro Adrian Sr. who was the leading Hispanic builder in Miami-Dade County in the 80’s. One of the most important lessons Adrian Sr. taught Alvaro was the importance of building properties that exemplified quality, attention to detail, and workmanship. Alvaro learned quickly how to manage all spectrums of the business: land acquisitions, construction and sales.
In 1988, Alvaro launched Adrian Homes Corporation, which immediately began building its first residential project, Killian Greens. The success of this residential community led Alvaro to develop more than 1300 residential properties in Miami-Dade County.
In 2000, Alvaro decided to expand his portfolio to include commercial developments under his new company Adrian Builders. Coral Way Professional Center, completed later that year was Alvaro’s first commercial development. “After finishing my first commercial property, I realized how much I loved building commercial spaces” Alvaro stated. From this point on, Adrian Builders has constructed more than 450,000 square feet of commercial spaces, including: shopping centers, Class-A medical offices, executive offices, and warehouses.
Although Alvaro has been in the business for over 25 years, he still remains personally involved with day-to-day operations. He actively participates in deal evaluations, financing, design, construction, sales and marketing. His daily priority is focused on his tenants, employees and properties. When Alvaro is not working, you can find him on the golf course. He loves traveling with is wife Vivian of 27 years, along with his three children. Alvaro’s other passions include fly fishing, hunting and cycling.
Two organizations Alvaro has been a part of for many years include: Latin Builders Association (LBA) and the South Florida Builders Association (SBA). Both he and his wife Vivian are supporters of the Guardian Angels at the Holtz Children Hospital in Miami, Florida.
